Financing & Insurance FAQ – Atlantis Dental

  • What Dental Insurance Plans Do You Accept?

We work with most major PPO dental insurances. Before your appointment, please send us your insurance information so we can verify your benefits and give you a complete breakdown of what’s covered.

    Common insurances we accept include:

    - Blue Cross Blue Shield

    - Delta Dental

    - Aetna

    - MetLife

    - Guardian

    - Principal

    - Altus

    - Ameritas

    - United Concordia

    - UnitedHealthcare Dental

    - Cigna Dental

    ...and many more.

We also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) — and we’ll provide all the documentation you need to submit proof of treatment if needed.

  • Are You In-Network With My Insurance Provider?

We are in-network with several major PPO plans. However, even if we are out-of-network, many plans still offer excellent reimbursement. Our team will review your benefits and let you know how your coverage applies.

  • Do You Accept Medicaid or Medicare Dental Plans?

Dr. Naqvi was previously a MassHealth and state insurance provider. However, due to the significant delays in payment—often taking 6 months to a year—and the rising costs of staff and healthcare, it became unsustainable to continue providing high-quality care under those conditions.

This is the only reason Dr. Naqvi decided to no longer accept MassHealth.

That said, we understand how difficult it can be to find timely care. Many offices that accept MassHealth have wait times of 3 to 8 weeks, even for emergencies. In addition, many essential treatments are not covered by MassHealth.

If you're in need of dental care and looking for a compassionate, skilled team, we would still love to see you. We offer flexible payment options to make high-quality dentistry affordable and accessible. Many of our patients with MassHealth choose to come to us because they value expert care, fast access, and long-lasting results.

  • What if I Don’t Have Dental Insurance?

    No insurance? No problem.

We offer an affordable in-house membership program for patients without dental coverage or who haven’t been to the dentist in a long time.

When you sign up, you’ll receive:

    - Two cleanings per year

    - 20% off all additional treatment

This is a great option for patients who want excellent care without the hassle of third-party insurance.

Call us at(508) 270-5050to learn more and sign up!

  • Do You Offer an In-House Membership or Savings Plan for Uninsured Patients?

Yes! We offer an Atlantis Dental Membership Plan that includes routine cleanings, exams, and X-rays — plus discounts on most treatments. It’s a great option for patients without traditional dental insurance.

  • How Much Does a Routine Dental Exam and Cleaning Typically Cost Without Insurance?

We’re proud to offer a **new patient special for only $99**, which includes:

    - A full set of digital X-rays

    - A comprehensive exam with the doctor

    - A healthy-mouth dental cleaning (if no gum disease is present)

This special is designed for patients who do not have periodontal (gum) disease. The regular cost of these combined services is typically around **$250**, so this is a great opportunity to get started with us and save.

If it’s been a while since your last cleaning or you have signs of gum disease, we’ll let you know if additional treatment is recommended.

  • Can You Give Me an Estimate for Common Procedures Like Fillings, Crowns, or Extractions?

When you come to our office, we’ll begin by taking X-rays and performing a thorough exam. Dr. Naqvi will then sit down with you to discuss your treatment options based on her findings. You’ll receive a clear, written treatment plan with all associated fees — along with multiple payment options.

There are **never any hidden charges or surprise add-ons**. You’ll know exactly what you’re paying for and why.

Dr. Naqvi believes strongly in **patient education**. Her philosophy is simple: when patients fully understand their needs and the costs involved, they make better health decisions and are more likely to maintain their dental care long-term — which is her ultimate goal and the goal of the entire Atlantis Dental team.

  • Do You Offer Payment Plans for Larger Treatments?

Yes! We offer a variety of payment options to fit every budget — including 0% financing for up to 24 months through multiple reputable lenders.

    - It takes less than 2 minutes to apply.

    - We work with five different financing companies to maximize your chances of approval.

    - If you're unable to apply yourself, you can also use a cosigner.

We do everything we can to help patients receive the care they need without financial stress. Whether you need a cleaning, a crown, or a full smile makeover, we’re here to help make it affordable.

  • Is Financing Available Through Third-Party Providers Like Carecredit or Sunbit?

We no longer accept CareCredit. However, we do offer flexible financing through trusted third-party lenders such as Alpheon Credit, Cherry, Healthcare Finance Direct, and others. We have options available for both prime and subprime credit scores.

  • What Forms of Payment Do You Accept (Cash, Credit Card, Hsa, Fsa, Etc.)?

We accept most major credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, Apple Pay, checks, and cash.

  • Will You File My Insurance Claim for Me, or Do I Need to Handle That Myself?

We handle all insurance claims on your behalf to make your experience as smooth as possible. We’ll also help follow up with your insurance provider if needed — and we do **not charge anything extra** for this service.

Our team works hard to ensure that your claims are submitted accurately and followed up so they are paid within 30 days whenever possible.

  • How Do I Find Out What My Insurance Will Cover Before Treatment Begins?

Dental insurance often covers preventive care like cleanings, exams, and X-rays at 100%. Other procedures are usually covered at 80% or 50%, depending on the plan.

    Here’s how we help:

    - We calculate your benefits before starting treatment and do our best to give you an accurate estimate.

    - Our insurance coordinators and remote billing team handle claims to ensure fast payment and minimal surprises.

    - If your insurance changes during treatment, your estimate may also change — we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

    - Some insurance companies send payment directly to us, while others mail it to you — we’ll explain your plan’s setup in advance.

Our goal is to help your insurance go as far as possible by avoiding unnecessary procedures and focusing on long-term dental health.

  • What Happens if My Insurance Only Covers Part of a Procedure?

You are responsible for the portion not covered by insurance. We’ll review your coverage with you beforehand so you can plan accordingly. Payment plans and financing are available if needed.

  • Do You Offer Discounts for Paying in Full at the Time of Service?

Yes, we offer a 5% discount for patients who pay in full with cash or check at the time of service for treatment plans over $500.

  • Can I Get a Detailed Cost Breakdown Before Agreeing to Treatment?

Always. We believe in full transparency. You’ll receive a clear, written treatment plan with all associated costs before any work begins.

If at any time you feel confused about what you’re paying for, please request a meeting with **Dr. Naqvi and our office manager** — they will personally go over everything with you to make sure there’s no uncertainty.

Dr. Naqvi never begins treatment until the patient has **fully understood the plan** and **financial arrangements have been made**. There are never any hidden costs in our care.

While rare, there may occasionally be changes during treatment based on something the doctor finds mid-procedure. However, we do our best to avoid surprises by relying on **high-quality X-rays, 3D scans, and a thorough exam** to plan your care accurately from the beginning.
