Atlantis Dental Donates 37 Backpacks to Local Families in Framingham
At Atlantis Dental, we believe that dentistry is about more than healthy smiles — it’s also about supporting the community we are proud to serve. This back-to-school season, our team came together to help local children start the school year with confidence by donating 37 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to families in need through Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Framingham, MA.
How It All Began
A few weeks ago, Dr. Sumbul Naqvi, owner and lead dentist at Atlantis Dental, learned that many families in our community were struggling to afford basic supplies for the new school year. She brought this concern to our team, and together we launched a school supply drive.
We invited our patients to join us, and for every donation they brought in, we entered their name into a raffle for a gift basket. To make an even greater impact, Dr. Naqvi personally matched every single donation — which allowed us to go beyond the original request from Wayside Youth & Family Support Network (30 backpacks) and deliver 37 fully stocked backpacks instead!
What We Donated
Each backpack was filled with classroom essentials such as:
- Notebooks & binders
- Pencil cases & sharpeners
- Pencils, erasers & highlighters
- Glue sticks & more
These supplies will help ensure that children in our community walk into school prepared, confident, and excited for the year ahead.

Free Medical Camp at Shri Gurusthan Temple Serves Over 100 Patients with Multilingual Health Screenings
Dr. Sumbul Naqvi of Atlantis Dental joined a team of dedicated physicians to offer free medical and dental screenings at a community health camp hosted by Shri Gurusthan Temple in Northborough, MA. The event welcomed over 100 individuals, many of whom were visiting parents from India without access to U.S. insurance coverage.
Dr. Naqvi provided complimentary dental screenings and one-on-one oral health advice, particularly to patients who had not seen a dentist in years. Her presence was especially appreciated by attendees seeking trustworthy dental care without financial barriers.
She was joined by:
- Dr. Hariharan, Internal Medicine specialist and founder of Maya Trust
- Dr. Yagnik Pandya, a highly respected General and Bariatric Surgeon
- Together, the three doctors used their ability to speak multiple languages to reach a diverse community — sharing practical guidance on oral health, chronic disease prevention, and overall wellness.

Local Healthcare Professionals Volunteer Services at St. Stephen’s Church to Promote Community Wellness
Framingham, MA – On Sunday June 1st, 2025, a team of compassionate healthcare professionals joined together at St. Stephen’s Church in Framingham to provide free health screenings and raise awareness about the importance of dental and medical wellness. The event followed the Sunday mass and offered parishioners an opportunity to receive expert guidance and preventive care services. Watch Video Here.
The volunteer team included Dr. Sumbul Naqvi, Owner and Lead Dentist at Atlantis Dental, Dr. Parveen Hariharan, Founder of Maasha Trust and a Board-Certified Cardiologist, and Maria, a Certified Dental Assistant. Their efforts were met with heartfelt appreciation from community members who benefited from this accessible, informative, and compassionate initiative.
“We are incredibly grateful to St. Stephen’s Church for allowing us to serve their community,” said Dr. Naqvi. “Events like this reinforce the value of early intervention and education when it comes to overall health.”

Baypath Humane Society
Every year in the month of February, Dr. Naqvi with the Atlantis Dental team visits the local Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton and sponsors 2 dogs and 2 cats for adoption. This year during our visit to the shelter we discovered something very special. The shelter has a "library" which is a quiet room for cats who have been rescued who have not been socialized to live among humans. The amazing volunteers at this shelter go in and sit there and read to these lovely (and often scared) cats who start getting desensitized and are able to be adopted by a loving family.
We appreciate and applaud the amazing and dedicated volunteers who give their love and time to our four legged friends.

Health Fair
On March 8th 2025, Dr. Naqvi volunteered her time to do free dental screenings at a local temple Shri Shridi Sai Temple in Northborough MA.
Dr. Parveen Hariharrn from Maasha Trust (https://maashatrust.org/), who is also Dr. Naqvi's personal physician, informed Dr. Naqvi that this community really needs some help as lots of their patrons are new to the USA and do not have a lot of access to healthcare. Dr. Naqvi immediately agreed to help out.
At the event, Dr. Naqvi was able to speak in Hindi to lots of people who did not speak English to help them understand the need for good dental health. Dr. Naqvi also meT lots of new graduates who are now looking for jobs and gave them advice on how to stay healthy. Dental health is related to overall health and any problems in the teeth and gums can cause problems in the internal organs of the body.
Several patients who come to Atlantis Dental are also part of this great community and it was a real pleasure for Dr. Naqvi to volunteer her time to get to know them and their needs better.

Dr. Naqvi Helps the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to Improve Literacy in Over 1,000,000 Teens
As you all know that Dr. Naqvi is an advocate for literacy in America. In her FREE TIME she helps raise funds for a special program that provides literacy materials to various Boys and Girls clubs in the USA.
So far her personal contributions have helped over 70 Boys and Girls Clubs.
Furthermore she has recruited other dentists in the USA to help on this project. Together, under Dr. Naqvi's leadership and guidance, they have provided quality reading materials to over 1,000,000 teens, helping them to discover a love of reading and improving their literacy - a foundational skill to improving their quality of life and pursuing any career.
When we ask Dr. Naqvi how does she find the time to do this with her busy office as well as raising 3 kids her answer is always the same:
"IF NOT ME THEN WHO?"
Additionally she always says "if I did not have a great staff and patients who support me, I would not be able to do all this."
